Chapter 1 • We have just finished reading Chapter 1 • ‘Then one day I did’ pg 5 • I know that something is going to happen to Raphael because he has previously mentioned in the chapter that ‘Then one day I did.’ meaning that he has found something interesting and that will be the centre of the story. • ‘Gardo’s my partner, and we always look together. He looks after me’ pg. 6 • Based on this line at the end of chapter 1 I predict that anything that is going to happen to Raphael in the novel Gardo will be involved. It gives me the impression that these two characters are never separated.
Revision… • What are the names of the characters that we have been introduced to so far? • What do they do for a living? • What is the discovery that is made at the end of chapter 2? Describe what is found. • What other important facts have we discovered in our reading so far?
