  5. Purpose of the Program Assist businesses in managing their waste by reducing the quantity generated, re-using waste items, recycling and buying recycled products

  6. Consider Quantity when Purchasing • Don’t buy what you won’t use. • Find someone else or another organization to use your leftovers.

  7. Purchase for the Future • Purchase long lasting and re-usable products. • Buy better quality products for longer use. • Look for products that can be fixed.

  8. Buy Recyclable • Purchase products that can be re-used. • Purchase products that have the recyclable symbol on the packaging. • Buy items with recycled content.

  9. Consider Packaging • Choose products that have the least amount of packaging. • Choose products that the packaging can be recycled.

  10. Re-use your item • Purchase products that the container can be reused. • Donate items that others can use.

  11. How do I get started recycling? • Pinpoint a zone where recyclables can be collected. • Position 4-5 large containers in this collection zone. • Allow us to come in and educate your employees on the importance of recycling and the important facts of how to start recycling.

  12. What Can I recycle? Almost Everything including…. • Plastics • Aluminum Cans and Steel • Glass • Paper It is easier to tell you what can’t be recycled.

  13. Who Can Teach My Employees Our group members will be more than happy to come in and do the initial training and help you get a recycling program started. If you would like more environmental programs for your employees, call the Laurel County Extension Office at 864-4167. We have FREE programs for adults and youth.

  14. Where to I take my Recyclables The London Recycling Center is located off on TLC Drive past the new Fire Department It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week
