American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment The commitment states that California State University, Chico will: Commit to a Climate Action Plan designed to reach Carbon Neutrality Conduct biannual Greenhouse Gas Inventories to benchmark measures Build all new campus construction to at least the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED Silver standard or equivalent Adopt an energy-efficient appliance purchasing policy requiring purchase of ENERGY STAR certified products in all areas for which such ratings exist Encourage use of and provide access to public transportation for all faculty, staff, students and visitors at our institution Begin purchasing or producing at least 15% of our institution's electricity consumption from renewable sources within one year of signing this document Participate in the Waste Minimization component of the national RecycleMania competition, and adopt 3 or more associated measures to reduce waste

  4. Energy Campus Energy Use Electrical Provider and grid mix: PG&E vs Arizona Power Supply EXECUTIVE ORDER S-21-09, requires that retail electrical providers increase the renewable portfolio of their grid mix to 20% by the beginning of 2010 and 33% by the year 2020.
