Currentactivity • The design of the FEE and the Block Card is in progress • and in the meantime we are working on the: • definition of the low level protocol between the FEE and the Block Card • definition of the transmission protocol on the fibre • way to perform the FEE setup and the FPGA programming • event-building by means of UDP/IP routing Test system …. Spiral2 ICCInstrumentation Coordination Committee Working Group Minutes of the ICC DAQ Working Groups meeting by Bruno Raine Orsay, 9 December 2009 Attendance: A. Shebli – CEA SaclayB. Raine, F. Saillant – GANIL CaenE. Liénard – LPC Caen X. Grave – IPN OrsayE. Legay – CSNSM OrsayH. Simon – GSI Darmstadt A. Ordine – INFN Napoli Agenda : • Presentation and objectives of the ICC DAQ Working Group (Bruno Raine) • GET/ACTAR electronics control (Shebli Anvar) • AGATA slow control (Eric Legay) • FAZIA DAQ (A. Ordine) • GANIL/SPIRAL2 requirements and developments (Frédéric Saillant) • GSI integration plans and methods (Haik Simon) • Discussions 1. Introduction As part of the participants did not participate to the first common technical ICC working group, B. Raine presented briefly ICC then the objectives of the ICC DAQ working group : to make recommendations and to define standards for development of the DAQ software for existing and future detectors of GANIL/SPIRAL2. again from Spiral2 ICC Meeting on 9th December 2009 2. Presentations and discussions [….]All presented systems have the same architecture which consists of an electronics control / slow control system communicating on one side with electronics and on the other side with a global run control process. The general architecture proposed by GANIL is agreed by all the participants. In this schematic, global run control system is provided by GANIL, but electronics control system and configuration backup have to be provided by detectors builders. [….] GANIL is currently developing global run control and electronics control tools for a general purpose usage. [….] Communications with global run control on one side and electronics on the other side are made by using SOAP protocol. Backup of configurations is made in files by using XML. [….] 3. Conclusions All participants think that it will be difficult to have the same tools in all the projects for the setup of electronics and backup of the configuration. The recommendation is to define interfaces between all parts of the systemwith a minimum of functionalities asked for a system to be integrated in the GANIL DAQ system.
