  7. MIDDLE COLONIES v.s MODERN DAY WOMEN VS ▪ Today women wear different styles of clothing depending on where they shop. ▪ Some women might shop at Aeropostale, American Eagle, JC Penny’s, Macy’s, and many others. ▪ The Quaker women wore plain dresses, a bonnet, and shoes. ▪ To church they wore nicer more fashionable dresses to dress appropriately for the occasion.

  8. MIDDLE COLONIES v.s MODERN DAY CHILDREN VS ▪ Quaker children wore simple clothing. ▪ The girls wore simple dresses with a bonnet and apron to work in the house. ▪ The boys wore simple outfits with trousers and a shirt to help with chores. ▪ Modern children wear clothes that their parents might pick out for them instead of being handmade from the home.

  9. SOUTHERN COLONIES v.s MODERN DAY MEN VS ▪ In modern times if you do not have nice clothes people do not consider you poor. ▪ Everyone usually wears the same styles and shops at the same places. ▪ The Southern colonies were more upper-class. ▪ If you didn’t have nice clothing and didn’t wear wigs they considered you poor or of a lower-class.
