Can you guess the name of my animal? The animal group it belongs to is called insects. It has 6 legs, claws, eyes, antennae, a head, a thorax, and an abdomen. It can be black, red, yellow or brown. It lives in the tree, in a nest, under a log, or in a hill, or in your own house. It can live all around the world, except Antarctica because it is too cold there. It mostly lives in hot areas. It eats seeds, plants, little bugs and crumbs. Now I will tell you how it is born. First it hatches itself from an egg. Then it goes to larva, next to a pupa, and then finally to this animal. Next I will tell you it cares for itself. Now my favorite part is that I get to tell you about unusual stuff about it. There are 10,000 different kinds of them. It can be the color yellow. Each nest has workers, soldiers, and a queen. The queen lays eggs the rest of her life. Did you know most of them live for 6 to 10 weeks and some can live for up to 15 years?
