The National Gallery of Canada The National Gallery of Canada is a national art museum located at the heart of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Major’s Hill Park Major’s Hill Park is located along the Rideau Canal at the mouth of the Ottawa river, west of the Parliament building and to the north of the National Gallery. Initially, the hill was called Colonel’s Hill, however, it was replaced in 1832 after Captain Daniel Bolton resided there. The hills underwent major damages after a massive fire broke in 1848.
