Southern Regional Education Board • Created in 1948 by Southern governors and legislators who recognized the link between education and economic vitality. • Works with 16 member states to improve public education at every level, from pre-K through Ph.D.The nation’s first regional interstate compact for education • SREB is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization headquartered in Atlanta. • Member states are Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. • SREB’s work is funded by member appropriations and by grants and contracts from foundations and local, state and federal agencies. • Participation in Electronic Campus related initiatives is free to institutions and students.

  5. Regional Contract Program “The Regional Contract-for-Services Program was one of SREB’s first good ideas. It was a good idea 50 years ago, and it is a good idea today, because it is a win-win situation for students, colleges, universities and states.”

  6. Regional Contract Program (RCP) • Developed in 1948 • One of the foundation programs of SREB • Dentistry • Optometry • Osteopathic Medicine • Podiatry • Veterinary Medicine

Regional Contract Program Student isadmitted to institution and enrolls at institution State Agency certifies student Institution awards RCP classification to student & invoices SREB SREB issues invoice to state agency State agency verifies students on invoice have been certified and issues payment to SREB SREB issues payment to institution

  9. Academic Common Market (ACM) Student isadmitted to the program and enrolls at institution State agency (ACM State Coordinator) certifies student Institution awards ACM classification to student and out-of-state tuition is waived

SREB’s Electronic Campus Regional Reciprocity Agreement (SECRRA) SECRRA applies only to those programs that do not trigger physical presence as defined by the state and in the Electronic Campus.   12. Electronic Campus (EC) • How does an institution participate in the Electronic Campus?The institution must be regionally accredited, not-for-profit and charted in one of the 16 SREB states. Each institution appoints an Electronic Campus Institutional Coordinator, who serves as the central point of contact for all activities associated with managing the Electronic Campus website.

  15. Electronic Campus (EC)What is the Transitional Page? The Transitional Page resides on the institution’s server and greets students when they transfer from EC to the college’s or university's website. This page must contain some mention of the Electronic Campus. It can be text, link, or logo and located anywhere on the page. In order to effectively brand and promote the site, we ask that all wording now refer to the Electronic Campus, or the Southern Regional Education Board’s Electronic Campus, or SREB's Electronic Campus. Please remove all references to SREC, Electronic Campus of the SREB.
