Building a wormery. By 5 th and 4 th class!!!. Materials needed. You need sand, soil, worms, leaves, gravel and water. Equipment. You will need a shovel and a container to put it in. Method 1. Put some gravel at the bottom of the container to allow for drainage. Method 2.

  1. Building a wormery By 5th and 4th class!!!

  2. Materials needed • You need sand, soil, worms, leaves, gravel and water.

  3. Equipment • You will need a shovel and a container to put it in.

  4. Method 1 • Put some gravel at the bottom of the container to allow for drainage.

  5. Method 2 • Put in soil.

  6. Method 3 • Add a layer of sand and repeat steps 2 and 3 as necessary.

  7. Method 4 • Add a little water if soil is very dry.

  8. Method 5 • Add leaves and release collected worms on top.

  9. Method 6 • Cover container. Ensure that you leave tiny air holes.

  10. Method 7 • Leave in a dark place.

  11. Result • The worms will mix the soil, sand and leaves together.
