He is Eternal Yet Came to Start The Gospel Age • God sent Jesus, Jesus Sent The Holy Spirit. • He was there in the Old Testament times • The Spirit is the energy of God in creation • Gen. 1:2; Job 26:13; Is. 32:15 . • God endows man with personal life by breathing into his nostrils the breath of life Gen. 2:7 • The Spirit strives with fallen man Gen. 6:3 . • He comes upon certain judges and warriors with charismatic powerJosh num27.18Samson Judg 13.25 14.6 • In Old Testament prophecy the Spirit plays a prominent role 2 Sam 23.2 Ezek 2.2

  10. The Spirit also inspired holiness in the Old Testament believer Ps. 43:10 • There is also the promise to give a new heart to God's people: Ez 36.27 • He is in-separably linked in Prophecy and action in the Incarnation Lk 1.35

Luke's Gospel is the one in which the Person of the Holy Spirit is mentioned most within the Life and Ministry of Jesus • The Acts of the Apostles can be given the alternative title of the Acts of the Holy Spirit • The Letter to the Romans also majors on the work of the Holy Spirit- 1.4; 2.29; 5.5; 7.6 • and in the 8th chapter 29 times !!
