History • T in the Park is a major music festival that has been held annually in Scotland since 1994. • Acts appearing in the opening year included Scottish rock band Gun, Oasis, The Manic Street Preachers and Rage Against the Machine and have appeared in many festivals, including 2008. • It is named after its main sponsor, the brewing company Tennents. • It was originally held at Strathclyde Park, but since 1997 has been held at a disused airfield in Balado, in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. • T in the Park was originally a two-day festival but since 2007 has taken place over three days, and introduced in 2008 was the chance to upgrade a weekend camping ticket to allow camping access on the Thursday - the day before any musicians performed.

Stages and Performance Arenas • There are four stages within the park, where the biggest and most popular acts perform. • There are also many other performance areas such as the • King Tut’s Wha Wha tent, Pet Sound Arena and the Slam Tent, where DJs and bands such as the Basement Jaxx perform. • There is also a big wheel and two fairgrounds for younger people to enjoy.

Campsite • The campsite located on site gives everyone the chance to pitch up the day before the festival and stay the duration. • This makes it easy for people travelling long distances and gives people a more enjoyable and memorable experience. • Also available is the orange campsite, where a tent and all equipment for the weekend is supplied.
Acts and Performances July 2009 • The headline acts scheduled to perform in 2009 are: Friday 10th Kings Of Leon Saturday 11th The Killers Sunday 12th Blur and Snow Patrol • Other acts such as Razorlight, Keane, Franz Ferdinand, Pendulum, Lily Allen and James Morrison are set to make an appearance.
