THE FIELD TEST • 8th Grade – March 17th to March 26th 7th Grade – March 31st to April 9th 6th Grade – April 22nd to May 1st • Trial run of the assessment system that helps ensure the assessments are valid, reliable, and fair for all students • Gives teachers and schools a chance to gauge their readiness in advance of their first operational assessment in spring 2015 • All 22 Governing States will participate in the Field Test

  4. PARTICIPATION INFORMATION • Students in Grades 3 -8 and 11 are required to take both the English Language Arts (ELA)/Literacy and Mathematics Field Test assessments • The SBAC-FT will be administered on the computer. There are no paper and pencil versions of the tests.

  5. TESTING INFORMATION • The SBAC-FT assessments are not timed. The suggested overall testing time is approximately 3.5 hours each for ELA/Literacy and Mathematics • Tests will be administered over multiple test sessions of about 60 or 90 minute sessions within the testing window. • All assessments will be administered on the computer with the exception of a 30 minute classroom activity each for ELA/Literacy and Mathematics

  6. Testing Sequence – 8 days per grade 60 minute sessions will take 1.5 periods and 90 minute sessions 2 periods
