Parks Scholarship The scholarship committee will be nominating 2 seniors for the NC State Parks Scholarship. Qualified applicants must be competitive for admission to NC State and possess outstanding skills in leadership, service and character. See Mrs. Rivera for pre-application is due TODAY.
Levine’s Scholar Program The Levine’s Scholar Program at UNCC provides full-tuition, room, board, book stipend, and up to $5,000 for each of the four summer experiences. All scholars are given an $8,000 grant to implement a civic engagement project of the Scholar’s own design. Applications are due November 8th.
John Belk Scholarship The John M. Belk Scholarship is Davidson's flagship merit program which covers the cost of attending Davidson (room, board, tuition and fees)- valued at over $67,000. Please submit if interested a resume by October 25th. Nominee Admission Application is due November 22nd.
Cabarrus County College Fair There will be a college fair on Wednesday, October 9th from 6-8 at the Cabarrus Event Center and Arena.
College Application Week CFNC College Application Week is October 21st-25th.

Theatre Presents The JMRHS Spring Musical has been announced--we will be performing BIG FISH, March 5-7 at 7pm.
Trunk or Treat Leadership is hosting a Trunk or Treat food drive in the commons on October 30th 5-7pm. Groups that want to host a table sign up online. Families will bring five canned food items for entrance to the event.

Band Community Yard Sale Saturday, Marching Band is hosting our annual Fall Community Yard Sale from 7 AM-Noon. Consider donating items that you’d like to see sold by bringing them to the band room this week or coming to buy items this Saturday. You may also purchase a spot as a vendor for $20.
Hispanic Heritage Dinner You are invited to our 14th Annual Spanish Heritage on October 16th at 5pm in the cafeteria. The dinner price is 5 dollars with catering from La Casa Grande, games, dancing, music, and guest speakers.
Senior Parent Night Senior Parent Night is on Monday, October 14th from 6-7PM. Counselors will present to parents about important college information and what to expect during your child’s senior year as well as important deadlines. Juniors are also welcome.

Spring Musical Any student who wants to check out a copy of the spring musical script, Big Fish, they will be available in Mrs. Boger's room starting Oct 1st. See her to check one out. If you missed the first round of musical auditions, a second round will be held on Nov 6th in Mrs. Boger's classroom. If you have already auditioned you do NOT need to audition again. Please bring w/ you 30 seconds of a song (from musical theatre genre) 30 second of a piece of choreography that you have prepared, and 30 second of a memorized monologue.
Senior Yearbook Pose Seniors, the yearbook staff will be outside the cafeteria and in the Senior courtyard Tuesday & Wednesday to allow you to choose the pose you want to see in your senior yearbook. \Your deadline to choose your senior picture is Friday, October 18.
Elementary Mentors Needed If you are a senior who flexes 4th period who is interested in mentoring students from Carl A Furr, Please come by student services for a permission slip. The mentors will be meeting at Furr on Tuesdays starting Oct. 15th through Nov. 26th from 1:10 - 2:00.

Band Congratulations to our Marching Band for a great first competition day. At the Mount Pleasant Showcase of Champions, they earned 1stPlace in Music, Marching, General Effect, Drum Major, Percussion, and Color Guard, as well as first Place Class 4A Overall. At the Hickory Ridge Festival of Bands, they earned 3rd Place Guard, 2ndPlace Percussion, 2nd Place Drum Major, 3rd Place General Effect, 3rdPlace Marching, 1st Place Music and 3rd Place Overall in Class 3A.
