Andrea Mantegna C.1431-1506 A.D. Andrea Mantegna was an Italian Painter during the later years of the Renaissance. He was born in modern-day Italy and was known for famous paintings which included St. Sebastian and the Agony in the Garden. He was the son- in law of Jacopo Bellini who was one of the founders of Renaissance paintings.

Gentile Da Fabriano Gentile was best known for being an Italian gothic style painter. His original name was Niccolo di Giovanni di Massio. He was born near Fabriano, Italy. He was wealthy and his works were very well liked by the people of his time. Gentile had other famous paintings. Around 1405, he was working in Venice on a panel of St. Sofia for a church. In the 1400’s one of his pieces was sold at $91.50.
