3. Successful Readers…. Read aloud at a pace they would use in conversation. Do not read too quickly or too slowly for readers to understand.

4. “The Sea” by James Reeves- Echo Read The sea is a hungry dog, Giant and gray. He rolls on the beach all day. With his clashing teeth and shaggy jaws Hour upon hour he gnaws The rumbling, tumbling stones, And “Bones, bones, bones, bones!” The giant sea-dog moans, Licking his greasy paws. And when the night wind roars And the moon rocks in the stormy cloud, He bounds his feet and snuffs and sniffs, Shaking his wet sides all over the cliffs, And howls and hollos long and loud. But on quiet days in May or June, When even the grasses on the dune Play no more their reedy tune, With his head between his paws He lies on the sandy shores, So quiet, so quiet, he scarcely snores.

8. reputation A person’s reputation is what he or she is known for. Alexis made a bad choice and lied to her teacher at school. If Alexis is trying to make a positive change. How could she earn a good reputation?

9. If you betrayed someone who trusted you, you let that person down. betrayed These two brothers are best friends. They tell each other everything. How would you feel if a friend betrayed you? Happy (thumbs up) or sad (thumbs down)?
