Willow Lake School Strategic Plan/Specific Results for each Strategy:The mission of the Willow Lake school, a small school with an exceptionally rich history of strong community and alumni support, is to create lifelong learners and educators who can adapt to an ever-changing global society by engaging in a rigorous and innovative curriculum in a secure and positive environment. Technology: Strategy: We will commit to implementing strategic technological changes to support successful student learning in the educational setting. Specific Results: Clean up and declare items surplus. Develop a technology rotation for equipment and software. Develop and maintain a reliable and secure network infrastructure Provide technology support to maintain technology readiness that impacts student learning. Achieve 1:1 accessibility to technology equipment for students and school personnel. Curriculum: Strategy: We will create a rigorous curriculum to ensure students’ lifelong learning skills. Specific Results: Improvements in reading skills for the Willow Lake School District, by implementing supplementary reading programs in grades K-12. Our curriculum will be current and consistent from year to year by updating educational materials on a rotational basis. Departmentalize the 4th, 5th and 6th grades to allow teachers to teach to their strengths while exposing students to a variety of teaching styles as found in the Junior High. Enhance student enthusiasm for learning at the JH/HS levels through more individualized course offerings specific to their interests. Positive Characteristics: Strategy: We will promote positive characteristics of a productive member of society. Specific Results: Improvement in student trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Improve opportunities for student involvement in the community. Facilities: Strategy: We will commit to provide facilities which will offer a secure, positive, and tech-ready learning environment. Specific Results: • Clean up and declare items surplus. • Strategic re-organization of existing building space that feasibly transitions into future structural changes. • Public presentation of the feasibility study of the school. • Improve existing Willow Lake Auditorium to optimize its usage.
