The Origin of Country Music Found in the Southern United States and Canadian Maritimes. Thought maybe to have evolved from Australian Country Music. Also called “Hillbilly Music” but evolved into country music in the 1940’s. Nashville, Tennessee is the “Country Music Capital of the United States” while Branson, Missouri is considered the “Live Entertainment Capital of the World.”
Stylistic Origins of Country Music Some Stylistic Origins of Country Music are Appalachian Folk Music, Maritime Folk Music, Gospel, Anglo, and Old-Time Music.
Derivative Forms of Country Music Some of the Derivative Forms of Country Music are Rock and Roll, Dansband, Roots Rock, Southern Rock, and Heartland Rock.
The Mainstream Popularity of Country Music The Mainstream Popularity of Country Music is 1920s- Present. Country Music has a high popularity in Australia, Canada, and the United States. Country Music has medium popularity in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Scandinavia, and New Zealand. Country Music has low popularity in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Mainland Europe.
Typical Instruments Used in Country Music Some of the typical instruments used in Country Music are Guitar, Dobro, Steel Guitar, Pedal Steel Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Bass, Fiddle, Click Drums, and Vocals.
