My magazine would be put in a mainstream conglomeration as well as a niche market. Although Country music is still seen as quite quirky and quite a niche genre of music, it is rapidly becoming more popular which is why I think it would be appropriate for it to be placed in stores alongside other mainstream magazines, for example, HMV.
My magazine would be distributed by a company such as Frontline as they are the UK’s largest distributing company and this allows them to distribute to 55,000 retailers. I chose the Frontline distribution company for exactly this reason as my target audience for my magazine would be shopping in both the mainstream areas and the more independent areas.
I would like my magazine to become extremely popular and well known and as country music is rapidly becoming more and more popular, alongside folk music, this seems like the right timing. The fact that it would be distributed in both independent and mainstream stores would increase the influence over the population of my target audience.
By using a well known distributor and an extremely successful distributor the chances of my magazine doing well increase dramatically. Frontline distributors would be able to distribute my magazine, Country, to thousands of retailers which would be extremely beneficial as it would reach a wider audience and increase the population of my audience, therefore creating a more successful magazine.
