About Edward • Edward Jenner was born on 17th of May in 1749 and died on 26th of January in 1823. For most of his life he lived near the River Severn in the village of Berkeley, Gloucestershire. Edward worked as a naturalist. Edward began school at the age of 8 and when he was 11 he went to Cirencester Grammar School. Edward began by being apprenticed at the age of twelve to Mr. Ludlow, a country surgeon of chipping Sodbury. He assisted Mr. Ludlow in surgical operations and pharmacy and in helping with running of country practice. At the age of 21, he went to London to complete his medical studio under the guidance of the surgeon scientist and teacher, John Hunter.
Edward’s family • Edward’s father was vicar(priest) of Berkeley. The family had strong connections with church and farming.
The beginning of vaccination • On 14th of May,1796, Edward Jenner vaccinated a young boy, against smallpox. This first ever smallpox vaccination was successful. It’s due to him that he can keep the disease under control today. Vaccination protects us from an acute infectious disease called smallpox. In the middle age , the disease spread all through Europe. Smallpox has been known and England since the thirteenth to have century when it’s thought to have been introduced by crusaders returning from the Middle East
Edward Jenner's success • Jenner was truly one of the world’s greatest medical benefactors. His work on vaccination laid the foundations for all modern immunological means of controlling diseases.
Edward’s scientist life • Edward worked mostly on finding the cure for cow pox or small pox. Edward and his teacher John Hunter worker and worker. They wanted to find a cure for this disease because it was mostly in Europe and many people got sick of it.
Edward’s discoveries • Edward discover the cure for small pox. He studied this disease until he found the right cure for it. He also finds the behavior of the young cuckoo in the nest.
Rase Question • The discoveries of this Scientist has helped me understand the topics in class by Edward Lenner found the right coronary arteries of the disease in order to find the cure. Edward to sometime to find the cure for small pox. After Edward has found the cure he testes it out. So this relates to what we learned in class by he found the right organisms like he did with the plants and animals.
