  1. Q3) what kind of media institution might distribute your product Who distributes magazines Who produced your case study magazine How important is content How important is profit

  2. There is a lot of publishing companies, after my research I found out that time inc publishing company would be the best company to publish my product because they are one of the biggest publishers in my music magazine genre which is hiphop/rap. This company advertises with tv, radio and internet which could help distribute my magazine • Starting my distribution I would start locally such as small corner shops in the uk and slowly expanding like vibe does. They had a partnership with time warner to help advertise their entertainment in their industry to involve more networks like in television and high speed internet who would be published by IPC. IPC media is a big part of the company timeinc, they are also based in the uk which will be possible for me to distribute my magazine in this way to sell consumer magazines. • My music magazines would be sold in stores such as whsmith, hmv or tesco, this is because they sell the most magazines, to make as much sales as possible, I would have to use them as they profit a lot of magazines.

  3. Q4) who will be the audience for your media product • my audience for my music magazine ‘IM DOWN’ will be aimed at both male and female but mostly male because, my research has shown there is a higher percentage of males interested in hip-hop/rap than females, and my audience would be aged around 16-24 this is a diverse age group because most teenagers are interested in hip-hop/rap. My music magazine social class audience would be C1 to E which is middleclass/working class. • The ethnicity of my audience targeted will be mostly black African, Caribbean, because my audience are young teenagers, they would be able to understand the language used which is not too formal, followed vibe conventions by using some quoted slangs

  4. Q5)how did you attract your audience • I used a well known artist which is ‘hot’ in the music industry at the moment, on the cover of my music magazine, also because the music audience are always interested in music ‘beef’ i.e music fights/feud between rappers, this would attract them to read buy the magazine

  5. Q6)what Have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing your prodcut • When we started, we was all introduced to InDesign, at the beginning of the year I wasn’t confident about using it because I didn’t know much on how to use it, however as the years went by we did a lot of practise is class till we made our final product, which I have now learnt to use from my preliminary task to my final product you can spot the change. • Also I have learnt to use Photoshop, when we started the course I thought all we had to do was take pictures and then upload it however the situation wasn’t like that, we had to take pictures and then given few days to Photoshop any mistakes in the picture, so during making my music magazine I have learnt how to Photoshop pictures

  6. Q7)looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the fullproduct • Firstly when we started media AS, we had to make a preliminary magazine which was Stanmore student magazine, we did it not knowing what the conventions of a magazine was and not really editing it using Photoshop to make it look better. • However over the course I have learnt to use InDesign and Photoshop a lot better, by editing my pictures for my front cover, contents and double spread page making it look better compared to my first preliminary task, I have come a long way and I'm satisfied with my final product.
