Attacking a castle & Armor Armor changed over medieval ages. For example first Knight wore chain male & it changed to stronger iron plates that were also lighter. • Attacking: • The attackers tried to drain the moat so they could mine underneath the castle wall so it could collapse. (if it doesn’t make sense I will explain) When attacking a castle, Archers used big shield called pavises. • They used a huge catapult named trebuchet. • The canons changed during the 1450 they could knock threw walls.
Open battles were fought in the summer against armies. Knights fought on horses. the nights wore armor to protect them selves. They used swords ,lances & maces (clubs). The soldiers that were on land wore less armor so they could move around more faster & have more space. Open battle
Siege • A castle was under siege when the attackers were burning down the villages & poisoned the water supply & waited till the king surrendered. The attackers stopped the siege only when they captured the king or in other words got the castle.
