Quaid Jinnah • Started as a Barrister and ended as the Quaid of the nation. • Acted as the advocate of Muslim nation and got the nation a separate homeland by negotiating with the British. • Political career started from Congress and in 1913 left it to join Muslim League. • Shifted from his point of view of united Indian independence to a separate Muslim independence due to Gandhi’s backing off from KhilafatMovement and Nehru Report. • Became the lifetime president of Muslim League in 1934. • Significant role in politics due to Lucknow Pact, 14 points, Gandhi-Jinnah talks, Radcliff award and negotiation with Lord Mountbatten.

Chaudary Rehmat Ali • A Cambridge student who eagerly wanted a separate homeland. • Gave the name “PAKISTAN” to a nameless movement. • Presented his pamphlet in 1933, named, “Now or Never” • The name clearly suggested his eagerness for a separate homeland. • Punjab, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Iran, Sindh were the constituents of his suggested country. • These were different from the ones suggested by Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
