Introduction of School • SMB Fatima Jinnah is a project of Zindagi Trust started by a very famous Pakistani singer Shehzad Roy. • 2400 students • Our Contact: Ms. Hameedah Sayani (Project Coordinator SMB Fatima Jinnah School)
Purpose • To make the management of the teachers and students easier
Problems • Redundancy • Documentation overhead • Retrieval rate • Decentralized environment (record keeping) • Sharing of resources • Less control over information • Time consuming operations affecting efficiency • Reliability issues • Record of people contributing charity
Introduction of project • Five modules as follows: • Student-Teacher • Alumni • Library • Medical • Welfare Fund
Methodology • Methodology: Rapid Application Development • Limited time of roughly three months
Rationale for Methodology • RAD was suitable because of the following reasons: • A focused project scope with clear business objectives • Availability of the data- only data only needed to be reported orderly • The decision of the project involved only Ms. Hameedah Sayani • Project team was small-only four people in the group • Clear technology usage. Use of PHP as language and MySQL in the backend • Technical requirements were in accordance with the technology being used
Ontological and Epistemological stance • Functionalist approach • Collected the information from the management • The system will benefit everyone in the school
The system is made as told by the management • Knowledge about the system was provided to us by the principal of the school and we also considered the general requirements of any school system
Sociological impact • Benefit everyone in school • Stakeholders as well as teachers and students will benefit from the system
Ethical issues • Totally ethical • Does not harm anyone’s interest or privacy • Everyone’s benefit is taken care of
Constraint free options • Finger print testing for teachers attendance • Library system with scanning facilities
