  14. Looking Inside the CCRPI Jasper County September 2013

  15. CCRPI Components Jasper County September 2013

  16. Overall Picture Because the bulk of your CCRPI is based on student achievement, you can make greatest gains by ensuring that curriculum, assessment, and instructional practices are the best they can be. Jasper County September 2013

  17. Leverage Point #1 1a. Is your curriculum fully aligned and updated annually? 1b. Are your assessment practices fully aligned to the curriculum? 1c. Are all your teachers using best instructional practices? 1d. Are all students held to the same rigorous expectations? Jasper County September 2013

  18. Leverage Point #2: Participation In order to get credit for any Content Mastery indicator, the school must have a 95% participation rate • Do your counselors/registrars know what they should be doing? • Do they know how to do it? • Are they getting it right? • Is any one checking? Jasper County September 2013

  19. Participation Rate 2012 CCRPI Report • Schools will earn points on the Content Mastery indicators if the Participation Rate < 95%. • Participation Rate will be suppressed on the 2012 CCRPI public reports. 2013 CCRPI Report • Schools will earn ZERO (0) points for the Content Mastery indicators if the Participation Rate is < 95%. Jasper County September 2013

  20. 95% Participation Rate Issues Jasper County September 2013

  21. Participation Rate Issues • After the public release of the 2012 CCRPI report, Accountability will apply the calculation fixes (for the GaDOE issues) to the 2012 data. • The recalculated participation rates will be posted in the portal for schools and districts to review. • Schools should review the data currently in the portal reports and alert your Accountability Specialist of any issue you find with the calculations. Jasper County September 2013

  22. CCRPI Report Jasper County September 2013

  23. Participation Rate • Are we about to repeat the same mistakes? • Analyze your data file to determine the most common reasons students were not tested last year. • SIS Set Up and Grade Reporting? Jasper County September 2013

  24. CCRPI Components

  25. Getting Down To Details The Achievement Score of the CCRPI is made up of three sections: • Content Mastery • Post Elementary/Middle/High School Readiness • Graduation Rate/Predictors Jasper County September 2013

  39. Simplified: Divide the pass rate by 10. (79.4 = 7.94) Round to the nearest tenth. (7.94 = 7.9) Add up the results for all tests. (60) Divide by the points possible. (60/80 = 75%) 75% of 28 points = 21 points Jasper County September 2013

  40. 40% 70% of total CCRPI 30% 30% Jasper County September 2013

  41. Strategies that Support Achievement We know that students learn best when they think that we care about them enough to pay attention to them. Are we paying attention to and monitoring the details in a deliberate and intentional manner? Jasper County September 2013

  42. Leverage Point #3 • Do your school improvement plans address the % of students exceeding on the CRCT/EOCT? • Do your Data Rooms/Data Discussions address the % of students exceeding on the CRCT/EOCT? • Do you regularly monitor and tally the % of students who are passing all four core areas? • Do your schools have flexible & immediate interventions for students who are failing one or more subject? Jasper County September 2013

  43. Post High/Middle/Elementary Readiness 30% • Green type denotes criteria that were benchmarked in FY 11 and DOE is currently working on benchmarks for FY 12 • There are a mixture of criteria • Schools need to look internally • Districts need to ensure alignment between schools Jasper County September 2013

  44. Elementary SCHOOL 60.8 /86.4 = 70.4 Jasper County September 2013

  45. Elementary SCHOOL .7328 X 21 Possible Points = 15.39 Jasper County September 2013

  46. Middle SCHOOL 60.8 /86.4 = 70.4 Jasper County September 2013

  47. Middle SCHOOL .7328 X 21 Possible Points = 15.39 Jasper County September 2013

  48. Simplified: If the indicator performance percentage is equal to or above the benchmark, award 10 points for the indicator. If not, divide the performance percentage by the benchmark. (60.8 divided by 86.4 = 70.4) Divide by 10. (70.4 divided by 10 = 7.04) Round to the nearest tenth. (70.4 = 7.0) Add up the results for all indicators. (51.3) Divide by the points possible. (51.3 divided by 70 = .7328) ES/MS (HS: Divide by 90) Multiply the total points possible by .7328 (.7328 X 21 Possible Points = 15.39) Jasper County September 2013

  49. Post-Elementary School Readiness: 30% or 21 Points Jasper County September 2013
