Lesson title: The Side effects for overuse mediaGrade level:10 Step 1-Desired Result 1) Students will be able to demonstrate/show the side effects of the excessive and miss-use of the technology of the social 2) Students should be able to identify the percentage number of people who now completely depend on social media in their work, study, fun and compare their life style to that in the past before such a technology take place
Step 2 –Assessment Evidence Performance task Students will classified into groups and start to design a pursuer. It will include the information about people who deal with the media but exessively,and the different symptoms they suffer from overusing the computer
Step 3 –learning plan Material: PowerPoint presentation You tube video The internet sites Google ,.. White board marker ,colored charts and colored markers. Procedure: Begin with an entry question(Do you think that playing video games or using computers for more than 8 hours or for long time daily may cause any harm to your health ?) to hook students into the effects of overusing media. H Give quiz on the different symptoms of overuse the technology media ,and try to predict the percentage in Cairo for different people who use th media, who do not use it by drawing graph to show this percentage.
Introduce the essential questions and discuses the performance task (I would organize a visit to an hospital and take an appointment with doctors in different aspects like, eyes doctors ,child psychiatrists , bones doctors , and diet doctors and start to make an interview to ask them all the same questions what happen to a teenagers and children if they watch tv play game videos ,open the computers for long hours daily? Also ask doctors how would be the health of a person who do not use a technology at all or those who use it in a certain definite hours? W
Note: Key vocabulary terms are introduced students will identify on the names of symptoms of different diseases like obesity, sensitivity and psychiatrists . E Review and discus the pursuer and how to add in it the information . Working in a cooperative groups ,and analyze these facts to show how to perform a graph a pie graph and a bar graph and added in the pursuer . Have groups share their analyses in the class to perform what they concluded as: 1- a morning bulletin in the school. E 2- a chart full of graphs and pictures for children suffer from obesity, eye sensitivity and their facts about overusing the media. T Conclude the lesson with asking the students how could they apply all they got from information on themselves and are they really convinced with what they concluded. O
