  5. The fact spectrum • White hat thinkers have two spectrums for facts

  6. First spectrum • The first is on relevance, ranging from crucial fact to barely relevant Barely relevant Crucial fact

  7. Second spectrum • The second on accuracy, ranging from hard fact that is easily proven to facts that are most likely untrue untrue fact Hard fact

  8. Areas pursued by white hat thinkers • Information that we have • Information we would like to have • Information that we need • Information that is missing • And sources for getting missing information

  9. The summary of the summary Now that you know all about white hat thinking here is a scenario, try and see which is the white hat response.

  10. Resume Question: Your boss asks you to look at a man’s resume. What is the first thing you notice? • His middle name is Mary • The applicant has never held a job for more then 18 months • He’s married and has two kids the white hat will give you the right answer

  11. Why the answer B is correct The answer is b because it is the most unbiased and the most relevant fact. It is relevant because the applicant is applying for a job, answer b is the only one that addresses that issue.

  12. Why the answers A and C are wrong Answers A and C are wrong because they are not relevant to how he will perform his job.
