  2. AUSTRALIA JNF-KKL PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2011 SOUTHERN REGION ANZAC TRAIL SIGNAGE A 60 km Educational Project that seeks to retrace the footsteps of the original ANZAC Charge. Signs have been erected at different sites.

  3. AUSTRALIA JNF-KKL PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2011 This visitors’ picnic site and donor acknowledgment site include both environmental signs and signs that commemorate the ANZACs, as well as a scenic route and educational tour path. NACHAL ASSAF ENVIROMENTAL & INTERPRETIVE CENTER

  4. AUSTRALIA JNF-KKL PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2011 DUDA’IM LANDFILL – YOUTH EDUCATION CENTER – BENI SHIMON REGIONAL COUNCIL KKL-JNF developed an educational center for youth at Duda’im, landfill and recycling site, in the Negev

  5. AUSTRALIA JNF-KKL PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2011 HAZERIM AIR FORCE BASE LANDSCAPING AND RECYCLED WATER FACILITY A rehabilitated garden which is irrigated with recycled water from the Hazerim Sewage Treatment Plant (a previously completed project).

  6. AUSTRALIA JNF-KKL PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2011 SECURITY PLANTING A joint project of KKL and the Ministry of Defense, to conceal the roadways and communities which are within shooting range of Gaza.

  7. AUSTRALIA JNF-KKL PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2011 TIFRACH RECYCLED WATER RESERVOIR This 2 million m3capacityRecycled Water Reservoir collects treated wastewater from western Be’erSheva. Water is used safely and efficiently for agriculture and irrigating crops, thus conserving fresh water for domestic use.

  8. AUSTRALIA JNF-KKL PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2011 SHOMRIA WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM Relatively small reservoir but of enormous importance to the people of Shomria. This reservoir handles the wastewater of the School in Shomria.

  9. AUSTRALIA JNF-KKL PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2011 ARAVA – PRESERVING DESERT ACACIAS A long-term program involving people of all ages to restore the unique acacia tree habitat.

  10. AUSTRALIA JNF-KKL PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2011 NEVATIM WATER TREATMENT FACILITY This 1 million m3 capacity Recycled Water Reservoir (which is at capacity) treats wastewater from Be’er Shevawhich is then used for both natural and agriculture purposes.

  11. AUSTRALIA JNF-KKL PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2011 CENTRAL REGION KFAR SABA BIOFILTER The Biofilter harvests and treats urban runoff, purifies the water and then channels it back into the aquifer for municipal use.

  12. AUSTRALIA JNF-KKL PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2011 YARKON WETLANDS 80 dunams of shallow pools with lush native vegetation have been constructed on the border of the Yarkon River Park. Water from sewage purification plants pass through these pools every day. The water flows through these pools into the dry Yarkon riverbed so that water will flow throughout the year, renewing the ecosystem, plant and animal life of the area.

AUSTRALIA JNF-KKL PROJECTS COMPLETED IN 2011 NORTHERN REGION BAT GALIM NAVY TRAINING BASE – DOCKING AREA IMPROVEMENT This project includes stabilizing the banks, a pergola, seating area, landscaping and irrigation, as well as a rockery, a water pipe and sewage. The upgrade has transformed the site into a pleasant outdoor, relaxation venue for soldiers and their families .

  15. Activities during the year Green Sunday 6 February: 350 school children from all Jewish day schools, youth movements, AUJS and BJE helped support the campaign – theme TURN THE BLACK INTO GREEN – Carmel Fires

Activities during the year Blue Box 20 March: Pesach Launch – Speaker Ygal Shapir, topic – Sha’ar HaNegev Project for 2011 21 August: Rosh Hashana Launch – Speaker Ygal Shapir, topic – Security planting and additional information about the Project and the area next to the Gaza strip. Special thanks to Paul Lowinger who continued to work tirelessly even though he had an accident while collecting.

  19. Activities during the year Seniors 15 June: Ygal Shapir gave a lecture about the Cherbourg Boats story and his participation in the event. He also spoke about the JNF projects. 17 August: Guest speaker Oded Keynan - “Young bird man”. 21 September: Coach tour to Palm Beach and cruise - 25 people attended. 22 September: North Shore – Friendship Club.   20. Activities during the year JNFuture 11 May: Yom Ha’atzmaut Cocktail Function at the home of Zoe and Darren Smorgon. 14 August: Gathering at the home of Ruth and Bob Magid – Ygal Shapir introduced the Kramim project.
