Humanism = Individualism • Humanism is the revelation in the Renaissance where the interests in human activities were reborn. • Some of these interests were the arts, literature, politics, history, and learning. • Individualism is people started to create their own identities. This means that individuals were making achievements.

  3. The Reformation Begins. . . The reformation began in the 16th century, led by Martin Luther, which caused a split in the western Church. The western Church split into the Catholic Church and the Protestant Church.

  4. More Facts about Humanism • Humanism was based around Florence, Italy because Florence it is in the center of Italy. Around the time of Humanism a reformation started to occur. • Humanism was based on the study of classic literary and artistic works of ancient Greece and Rome.

  6. Why is this still relevant today? This is relevant today because many of today's inventions and ideas are brought about by individuals. Humanism in the Renaissance was very important because it was a rebirth of individualism which is still very strong today. Without the Renaissance, the world would be a much darker less advanced place.
