  4. Why did Saddam start a war with Iran? • Iran had recently had a revolution in 1979. • The revolution was to end the rule of the Shah of Iran and replace with a democracy. • Saddam Hussein believed Iran to be weak and he claimed “old border” disputes.

  10. U.S. Supports Iraq and later in the war U.S. supplies Iran with weapons?? U.S. plays both sides of the war, supplies both sides with weapons. One of the many reasons why there is resentment towards U.S. today!
