  2. What is a Mouse? • A mouse is a pointing device that allows you to select objects on the screen.

  3. Holding a Mouse • Thumb rests on the left side of the mouse. • Index finger rests on the left button. • Middle finger rests on the right button.

  4. Mouse Clicking • A – Left Clicking • B – Right Clicking • C – Scrolling • D – Reach out and grasp the mouse • Then cup the mouse with your hand

  5. Mouse Wheel - Scrolling • Mouse wheel is an additional accessory placed between two buttons found in a mouse. • The wheel allows you to scroll. • Scrolling allows you to move up and down the page.

  6. Mouse cursor can change: • Arrow – for pointing • Hand – when it is a link to another webpage • Capital I - when it is text

  7. Mouse is used to: • Move around the screen • Scroll • Click • Drag & Drop
