The ISO PPC Program What is the PPC? • Information on municipal fire protection efforts in communities throughout the United States Who uses the PPC? • Insurance companies use it to help establish appropriate fire insurance premiums for residential & commercial properties How is an ISO rating determined? • By rating our fire services and water infrastructure with the Fire Suppression Rating Schedule (FSRS).
Why is this Significant • Provides an objective evaluation of the Fire department • Provides a financial benefit to our residents and businesses. • Recognizes efforts, provides incentives and rewards for communities that choose to improve their firefighting services. • Recognizes the significant efforts of the employees of the department of Fire Rescue and water distribution system
The PPC Evaluation Process To determine a community’s PPC, the ISO conducts on site field survey’s. Using Fire Suppression Rating Schedule, ISO objectively evaluates three major areas: • Call Handling (E -911) • The Fire Department (training, resources, programs, prevention and education, etc.) • Distribution (the water supply) .
ISO PPC Stats Our score places the City in the top 5% rated departments in the state and in the top 2% nationwide
