  1. Healthy Churches • invest in the next generation

  2. Judges 2:10-11After that whole generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation grew up, who knew neither the LORD nor what he had done for Israel. Then the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord and served Baals.

  3. God’s people are always just one generation away from apostasy. Therefore we must consistently and intentionally be growing, equipping, empowering, and releasing the next generation to lead.

  4. Principle # 1 A healthy church intentionally, consistently, deliberately, creatively, persistently,prays the next generation will experience thepersonal presence of Lord in their lives

  5. Ephesians 6:10-12 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

  6. Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

  7. Principle # 2A healthy church develops spiritually and emotionally healthy adults that are compelled by the love of God to go to and build up the next generation

  8. 1 Corinthians 4:15 Even though you have many teachers in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.

  9. Matthew 28:18-20Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

  10. Principle # 3Go to them and stop expecting them to come to you

  11. Principle # 4Healthy churches develop partnerships with ministries that are present with young people

  12. Principle # 5 We had to wait!!!!! Slower is faster

  13. 2 Timothy 2:1-2  You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.

  14. Principle # 6A healthy church intentionally empowers and releases the next generation to do the work of the ministry

  15. 2 Timothy 1:6-7For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
