Trainees can be slow to set themselves up & therefore should we allow deaneries to register trainees? Some members of the surgical team need help registering & therefore should we enable trainees to start the system set up of a member of their team? Sometimes placement & level boundaries don't easily match & therefore should we letplacements over-run stages? Trainees should know why they've not been validated & therefore should we give PDs the chance to enter a reason if they don't validate a trainee but refer them? Some people would like their own homepage format & therefore should we allow personalised views? v6 questioning assumptions Registration
PDs don't always complete Global Objective topics & therefore should we allow PDs to enter GO free-text, but remove the need for them to pick GO topics (instead issuing guidance for templates objectives)? Trainees want to be able to set-up a LA with their AES before the placement is validated by a PD & therefore should we allow trainees to set-up a LA prior to placement validation (or even remove PD validation of placements)? Sometimes an AES wants to give the same LA to many trainees & therefore should we let AESs save their own LA template to reuse on trainees? v6 questioning assumptions Validation & Set-up
Some trainees want to start a mini-PAT before their previous one finishes & therefore should we allow them to have more than one mini-PAT at once? Some PDs need to know what's happening to trainees mid-year & therefore should we allow PDs to see the mini-PAT feedback before it is completed? Consultants can’t easily see how trainees are progressing against the syllabus & therefore should we introduce views that show a summary of trainees’ progress (i.e. 80% of General Surgery > Interim stage) and a clearer view of progress within a stage? ARCPs often want to know about operative experience related to the syllabus & therefore should we ask the SACs to link operations to topics so we can show a trainees’ experience related to their LA? v6 questioning assumptions Progression
Trainees don't always know which part of the syllabus a WBA is related to & therefore should we let WBAs be entered online & optionally relate that to their LA? Trainees don't always know what assessments they're suppose to do & therefore should we get the SACs to guide which WBAs relate to which parts of the syllabus, & relate WBAs to logbook operations? CSs want to validate WBAs immediately & therefore should we enable CSs to securely validate a WBA within a trainee’s account? Sometimes one WBA relates to several parts of the syllabus & therefore should we let a WBA relate to several topics? Some CSs will never log-in & therefore should we let the AESs both enter &/or validate a WBA for the CS? v6 questioning assumptions WBAs
