Today’s plan • Greeting • Questions on Conjectures & Proofs? • Warm-up: Practice Quiz / Return Work • Lesson: Triangles and QLs • Homework / Questions • Clean-up
Practice Quiz • What is our definition of… • a quadrilateral? • a rectangle? • a parallelogram? • a trapezoid? • a rhombus? • a diagonal? • a circle?
Triangles • What types of triangles are available on the template? • Equilateral • Obtuse Isosceles • Acute Isosceles • Right Scalene (half-equilateral and 3-4-5) • Acute Scalene • What type(s) are missing? • Right Isosceles • Obtuse Scalene
Triangles to QLs • With two congruent triangles sharing a side, what types of quadrilaterals can you make? • For example, two right isosceles triangles can make a square or a (non-square) parallelogram: • Discuss all eight types of triangles.
Assignment / Homework • 25+ minutes for your choice: • Write up an illustrated report of your findings from this exercise: • What shapes can be made, with two of each kind of triangle? • Bonus: What if you can use three of each given kind of triangle? • OR, prove one or two conjectures and do a detailed, clean write-up. • Unit 7 Test Analysis – due Thursday/Friday.
Clean-up / Reminders • Pick up all trash / items. • Push in chairs (at front and back tables). • See you tomorrow!
