Open an image in Photoshop, or paste an image from the clipboard on an empty new file. If your image is in the background layer, right click on the layer in the layer palette to duplicate it. Delete the background layer (some actions cannot be performed on a background layer) If you plan to work on the image, duplicate the layer to keep a version of the original one Open your image You can find this image here C. You can modify the luminosity or the colors of the image using various menus. For example, try the various options in the Enhance menu to change colors and brightness of the image. A special effect is obtained working on the Levels. The levels tool can move and stretch brightness levels in a histogram using three main components: a black point, white point and midtone slider. Photoshop has many filters to transform the image according to specific characteristics. They can be applied to the whole image or to a selected area. Results are better on high resolution photos. Filters C. Palazzi -Image manipulation in Photoshop
Sometimes you might have to remove certain parts of the image, or correct spots or defaults. Using the Clone Tool you can copy a part of the image on another part. Press the Alt key and click on the source starting point, then click on the target to copy. Zoom on the image to see the details. Cutout a silhouette • You might need to isolate a person in a group photo. • You can cutout the outline of the person with the magnetic lasso, defining the border between different colored areas, then paste it in a new image • Sometimes it is easier to leave some parts of the image to remove, and delete them later with the eraser.
