What is a Job? • A job is a paid position of regular employment.
What is a Career? • An occupation undertaken for a significant period of a person's life and with opportunities for progress.
Explain the difference between a Job and a Career. • A job is something you do simply to earn money; a career is a series of connected employment opportunities.
Full-time vs. Part-time • Part Time work is any amount of time worked less than 40 in one week. Full- Time is at least 40 hours of work a week.
What is an entrepreneur? • A person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on financial risk to do so.
What is Job Sharing? • Job sharing is an employment arrangement where typically two people are retained on a part-time or reduced-time basis to perform a single job.
What is Comp. Time? • Time off that is granted to a worker as compensation for working overtime. (More than 40 hours in one week)
What is Telecommuting? • When one works from home, communicating with the workplace using equipment such as telephones, fax machines, and modems.
