LLRC – key dates • Commission of Inquiry on Lessons Learnt & Reconciliation – appointed by His Excellency the President on May 15, 2010. • LLRC Report completed and handed over – November 2011 • LLRC Report tabled in Parliament – December 2011 • Cabinet assigned Secretary to the President to monitor implementation of LLRC recommendations – May 2012 • National Plan of Action to Implement the Recommendations of the LLRC approved by the Cabinet – July 2012
The LLRC has 285 recommendations – 135 which are main recommendations • Recommendations relating to National Policy • 33 main recommendations • Recommendations relating to final phase of conflict • 08 main recommendations • Recommendations relating to human rights and national security • 28 main recommendations • Recommendations relating to resettlement and development • 66 main recommendations
National Plan of Action to Implement the Recommendations of the LLRC • Prepared after several consultations with key implementing agencies. • Final Action Plan approved by the Cabinet on July 26, 2012. • 24 key ministries and agencies involved in implementation. • Holistic, coordinated exercise.
