Directions • Your project will consist of 10 slides. Your slides will follow the pattern of the GPERSIANs handout. • Geographic • Political • Economic • Religious • Social • Intellectual • Artistic • Nation • Sources
Requirements • Your slide must contain pictures that relate to your topics. Minimum 5 pictures. A map of your country must be included. • Your grade will be based upon your information presented, slide design and layout, your presentation.
Geographic • Location: List neighboring countries and landmarks • List 5 physical features (can include bodies of water, soils, climate zones and topographic features)
Political • Is the country a democracy, monarchy, autocracy? Which type? • Who elects the leaders? • Structure: Legislative, judicial, executive • Political factions and parties?
Economic • Does the country follow a capitalist, command or other model ? • What role does the government play? • How do people make their living? • Do they produce items for international trade?
Religion • What are the religions in the country and what is the percentage, if there is more than one. • Is the country highly religious, or highly secular? • Does the country have a high number of people that follow traditional religions? • How do religious groups interact?
Social • What is the social structure of the country? • What role do minorities and/or women play in the society? • How are poor people included in the society?
Intellectual • How is education set up in the country? • What is the literacy rate? • Is the country intellectually open to thoughtful debate and inclusion of different opinions?
Artistic / cultural • Are there particular art forms identified with the country’s culture? • Does the country have mechanisms to promote artistic endeavors? • Has this country produced world-class artists and genres?
Nation • Having to do with any other aspect of your country that is significant, yet not covered enough in the other slides
