Why foundations • A guide to happenings • Strategic positioning • These are postures you must take in order to accommodate the Year • Revelation to align you with what God has shown you
First Foundation • 1.) Enact a new Alter • Historical and biblical references in the Bible potray a series of alters in every new land by either Gods servants or his Children. • This means each time God appeared to a man or led him into a hew land, he will build an Alter(Genesis 8:20 Noah builds an alter after the sinful world was wiped out)Genesis 12:7 Abraham builds an alter immediately God revealed his future • Genesis28 Jacob enters a new land (Bethel and after his revelation, he ennacts an alter.
Why an alter? • For those who were with me dury our lessons on the Alter will recall a number of things we said about Alters. • 1.) Alters represent a place where man encounters God. • It represents a place of revelation • It represents a place of worship • It represents a place of sacrifice • It represents a events in the history of a people • The alter in the new land to us represents a new heart for God. New commitment, new worship, new place of sacrifice, represents a place where you want to give your best to God which is different from what you did in 2011 • As a significance, each person brought 2 bottles of Olive oil, one for the person and one kept at the alter(church)
2nd Foundation • Offer a sacrifice. Beloved, when someone blesses you with money or anything don’t you show appreciation. when you have a break through don’t you celebrate. • Numbers 15:1-2115And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land of your habitations, which I give unto you, 3 And will make an offering by fire unto the Lord, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing [1] a vow, or in a freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto the Lord, of the herd, or of the flock: 4 Then shall he that offereth his offering unto the Lord bring a meat offering of a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of oil. 5 And the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering shalt thou prepare with the burnt offering or sacrifice, for one lamb. 6 Or for a ram, thou shalt prepare for a meat offering two tenth deals of flour mingled with the third part of an hin of oil. 7 And for a drink offering thou shalt offer the third part of an hin of wine, for a sweet savour unto the Lord. 8 And when thou preparest a bullock for a burnt offering, or for a sacrifice in performing a vow, or peace offerings unto the Lord: 9 Then shall he bring with a bullock a meat offering of three tenth deals of flour mingled with half an hin of oil. 10 And thou shalt bring for a drink offering half an hin of wine, for an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord. 11 Thus shall it be done for one bullock, or for one ram, or for a lamb, or a kid. 12 According to the number that ye shall prepare, so shall ye do to every one according to their number. 13 All that are born of the country shall do these things after this manner, in offering an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord. 14 And if a stranger sojourn with you, or whosoever be among you in your generations, and will offer an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord; as ye do, so he shall do. 15 One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be before the Lord. 16 One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you. 17 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 18 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land whither I bring you, 19 Then it shall be, that, when ye eat of the bread of the land, ye shall offer up an heave offering unto the Lord. 20 Ye shall offer up a cake of the first of your dough for an heave offering: as ye do the heave offering of the threshing floor, so shall ye heave it. 21 Of the first of your dough ye shall give unto the Lord an heave offering in your generations. • Many people are very offering sensitive, tithe sensitive, immediately it gets to offering time, they begin to pee in their pants, struggling with wallets, think of bills. Some now our days if the sermon is not sweet for them, they will not offer anything to God. God opened my eyes to a brother and a sister, so far as the message did not move them, they will not offer it is time people of God to begin your year with a quality seed, or offering. It prepares grounds for a heavy harvest at its appointed time .Some have not offered a thanksgiving to God for 2011 but are already disturbing his ears for breakthroughs for 2012 may you repent and bring that offering forward before you can begin to role in tongues People who do not sow or tithes are channels or agents to keep the church in lack.
3rd foundation • Numbers 15:32-36 • King James Version (KJV) • 32And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. • 33And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. • 34And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him. • 35And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. • 36And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses. • The capitalist society has made it difficult for Gods children to worship in on Sundays. They pay you double if you have to work on Sunday or offer you 150 dollars on Easter Sunday. The challenging economy has made many children of God to consider working on Sunday as if money is the only problem • The above day that has also been greatly argued by 7 days Adventist if the true day of worship is Sunday. others claim you can just sit at home and watch TV ministries. • Heb 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching. • When you miss fellowship, you miss the warmth, testimony, love, above all the revelation and the anointing. • This is the year, we need to remain in dominion as we continue to seek him
4th Foundation • Obidience:Deuteronomy 4:1-14, Israel, hear the decrees and laws I am about to teach you. Follow them so that you may live and may go in and take possession of the land the LORD, the God of your ancestors, is giving you. 2 Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you. 3 You saw with your own eyes what the LORD did at Baal Peor. The LORD your God destroyed from among you everyone who followed the Baal of Peor, 4 but all of you who held fast to the LORD your God are still alive today. • 5 See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the LORD my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it. 6 Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.” 7 What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to him? 8 And what other nation is so great as to have such righteous decrees and laws as this body of laws I am setting before you today? • 9 Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them. 10 Remember the day you stood before the LORD your God at Horeb, when he said to me, “Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children.” 11 You came near and stood at the foot of the mountain while it blazed with fire to the very heavens, with black clouds and deep darkness. 12 Then the LORD spoke to you out of the fire. You heard the sound of words but saw no form; there was only a voice. 13 He declared to you his covenant, the Ten Commandments, which he commanded you to follow and then wrote them on two stone tablets. 14 And the LORD directed me at that time to teach you the decrees and laws you are to follow in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess. • Obidience is the first step towards salvation. It is a demonstration that Christ lives in you • it is the first aspect of christian character that outwardly portrays a change of heart, a response to Gods word, and abiding in Christ. • It moves us in the direction of God • It yields us to his will as we submit to his leadership • It establishes a firm grip on faith that causes it to respond to the voice of God • Obedienc begins with the fear of the Lord and must not be manifested not in the direction of our selfish interest, nor when things are not moving right in our eyes but rather a response from a heart where the Holy spirit abides • Moses deems it necessary to caution the people to walk in obedience, contrary to the rebellion they have manifested throughout the journey. Rebellion towards the man of God as well as towards God. • If we have to enjoy that which God has for us this year, lets take stock of our lives, reexamining our Christian character • Deuteronomy 30:15 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction.
What causes disobedience • 1.) selfish interests, • 2.) lack of faith leading to compromise • 3.) external influence from friends • 4.) false knowledge, judgment • 5.) pride • 6.) the enemy.( the enemy comes last because we have been blaming him for so long. we must take responsibility of our actions
What Obedience Does • 1.) Gives you strength in the new land • 2.) It moves you promptly to locate divine provision • 3.)it prologues your days • 4.) it propels you into your miracle • it positions you into the shoes of God
Consequences of Disobedience • 1.) deuteronomy 11:16-17Then the LORD's anger will burn against you, and he will shut the heavens so that it will not rain and the ground will yield no produce, and you will soon perish from the good land the LORD is giving you. • 2) it builds rebellion which is identical to the devil • 3.)gives the devil a legal ground in your life
