II. War in Moab • A. Background information: • 1. Who is the King of Judah? • Jehoshaphat (son of Asa) • 2. Who were the last 3 kings of Israel? • Ahab, Ahaziah, and now Joram
II. War in Moab • B. Alliances: • 1. Which is a more compelling reason to form an alliance: confronting an enemy or pursuing a common goal (like economic growth?) • In Palestine, the most common reason for an alliance was defensive

II. War in Moab • E. King David conquered the Moabites, and by the time of Ahab, Israel was demanding 100,000 lambs and wool from 100,000 sheep. The Moabites rebelled.
