  2. There are five different groups of animals with vertebrates. • Mammals • Fish • Reptiles • Birds • Amphibians

  3. Grizzly Bears have certain characteristics that make them a mammal. Mammals are warm-blooded. They have hair or fur. They give birth to live young and the mother feeds the babies with milk. Mammals breathe with lungs. Here are some of the attributes.

  4. What a grizzly bear looks like. A grizzly bear looks like a polar bear but a grizzly is smaller and has brown fur. He has long, thick, brown, black, red, or blonde fur. They have long claws on both of there paws. A grizzly bear has a large hump on it shoulders.

  6. What a Grizzly Eats. A grizzly bear eats a lot. He eats berries, fish, elk, moose, grass, and fruit. Grizzly bears are omnivores. They eat plants and meat.

  7. Habitat A grizzly bear does not live where it is very cold. They live in cool mountains, forests, and river valleys. They could live in a cave to.

  8. Weight A grizzly bear weigh up to 1,500 pounds, 680 kg). Females are about 2/3 the size of males. Newborns weigh only about 1 pound.

  9. Length Grizzly bears are up to 7 feet. 2.1m. Their front claws are up to 4.75 inches (12cm), almost twice as long as the rear claw.

  10. Speed They can run up to 35 mph for short bursts. Most sneak up on prey at low pace. If not catching prey the pace is much slower.

  11. Surviving in the winter Grizzly bearshibernate in the winter. They eat more than they should be. This is because they half to eat a lot to last out the winter.
