How can you do this? • Dovetail tasks—doing several tasks at the same time to save time and energy. • Example: Cooking the entrée and vegetables while you are preparing dessert.
Pre-Preparation Tasks • 1. Read the recipe. • 2. Prepare the market order (grocery list) • 3. Gather equipment • 4. Gather ingredients
Preparation Tasks • Wash hands • Set table • Measure ingredients • Clean as you go • Preheat oven • Mix ingredients • Set timer • Cook! • Final clean up
How do you know where to start? • The entrée (main dish) usually takes the longest. • Examples: • Pork Tenderloin • Tacos • Chicken
