  2. Purpose • To provide support and guidance to USHPA Instructors • To improve the USHPA Instructor and Instructor Administrator Programs

  4. Major Focus Areas • Instructor Administrator requirements • Instructor training • Instructor support • Web site • Support from other committees • Marketing & Development • Safety & Training

  5. Instructor Administrators • Consider National Instructor Training Centers (year-round availability) • Emphasize the 3 step training process • ITP clinic • Instructor Apprenticing • Instructor Evaluation • Consider the number and distribution of Instructor Administrators

  6. Instructor Administrators • Consider new requirements which improve the availability of Instructor training, standardize Instructor training, and provide support. • Some level of activity to support the Instructor Training Program • May require travel within the Instructor Administrator’s region (if financially justified)

  7. Instructors • Improve availability of Instructor services • Improve availability of continuing education • Offer useful tools for Instructors

  8. Instructors • Consider ways to reward pilots for becoming Instructors • Consider ways to reward Instructors for teaching high-quality students

  9. Instructors • Provide new types of Instructor training • Advanced, comprehensive training courses • ITP clinic • Apprentice days • Instructor Evaluation Upon successful completion of the training course, qualified pilots are certified as Instructors • Training videos • Webinars

  10. Instructors • New Training Material (Videos & Webinars) • Pilot training tips • Tips from Instructors to Instructors How to improve instruction methods • Business tips • Tips from businessmen to businessmen How to create and run a successful school

Web Site Considerations • Google Earth location of Instructor Administrators and National Instructor Training Centers for pilots interested in becoming Instructors • Instructor Administrator referral program through the USHPA web site • Repository for Instructor training, including pre-recorded webinars and training videos

  12. Safety & Training Support • IPWG will investigate instruction methods and practices to help Instructors • IPWG will propose training methods for production of webinars and videos • S&T will help create scripts for the webinars and videos • S&T to consider changes to SOPs: • SOP 12-01, USHPA Basic Safety Recommendations • SOP 12-05, Directors, Examiners, Observers, Instructors • SOP 12-09, USHPA Approved Method of Instruction • In general, consider Instructor and Instructor Administrator quality control

Marketing & Development Support • IPWG to investigate business methods and practices to help Instructors • IPWG to propose scripts for production of webinars and videos • M&D to help businessmen and Instructor Administrators create the webinars and videos • M&D to help Instructor Administrators create training webinars and videos
