On October the 5th my class accompanied by our teachers Vanni and Cheletti visited a small museum and a church, located in a small village called San Gervasio in Tuscany.
Inside the museum we had the opportunity to understand how people lived in the countries and the difficulties about a life devoted to work the land. Work was very hard because it was made by hands.
In the museum there are lot of interesting tools and machines to elaborate the product like grapes and olive from where the old family drew wine and oil.
The most common jobs were carpenters, tailors, shoemakers, farmers and other craft works. Only a few of people could learn job like doctor.
Something about: SHOEMAKERS TAILOR
Inside an other museum room there was an old kitchen and we saw a lots of strange things like unusual utensils. There was a table ready for the dinner.
Inside an other small building near museum there were lot of old games. It was very funny to see the trasformation and evolution of games.
People were more religious than now, near the “farm” there are an old parish church. This small building is called “Pieve di San Giovanni Battista”. It's a beautiful rural church and inside there is a bell of San Michele (a small church deleted by war!)
