Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann • CCÉ is involved in the promotion of Irish traditional music. • CCÉ has hundreds of branches around the world on the island of Ireland and beyond. • The organization has been in operation since 1951. • Runs just over 1000 music classes dance and language classes throughout Ireland each week!

FleadhCheoilnahÉireann • The “Fleadh Cheoil” (“feast of music”) is the largest music festival in the world. • It is a series of qualifying rounds of competitions for Irish music from local to regional, national and international throughout the world culminating in the annual Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, which Derry will host in 2013.

Our Objectives • To promote and celebrate the traditional arts in Derry • To involve more people in the work of CCÉ • To host an environmentally-friendly Fleadh • To host a disability-friendly Fleadh • To host an inclusive cross–community Fleadh • To promote Derry as a tourism, business and shopping destination • Build strategic partnerships and promote civic unity • To contribute to the building of peace and reconciliation • To leave a legacy of traditional music and cultural awareness

Work Plan • The period of Feb to August will be used to develop the Doire 2013 marketing package. • Derry has a unique opportunityto sell our city at the Cavan 2012 Fleadh where we will have access to over 300,00 attendees. • There is series of events in Derry and at provincial Fleadhannafrom February to July which are also marketing opportunities.
