Title I • Again this year Houston County Middle School will be a school wide Title I School. • A school wide school uses all available resources (state, Local, and federal) to upgrade the entire educational program. • Its primary goal is to ensure that all students demonstrate proficient and advanced levels of achievement on State academic achievement standards. IRISH PRIDE

  3. No Distinctions • In a school wide school individual students are not identified as Title I participants. • No distinctions are made between staff paid with Title I funds and staff paid from other funding. • All school staff are expected to direct their efforts toward upgrading the entire educational program. IRISH PRIDE

  4. Title I at HCMS • By continuing to be a Title I School Houston County Middle School will be able to provide additional support to aide your child in their education. • Each student will have an individual parent-student-school compact. IRISH PRIDE

  5. Supplement Not Supplant • The purpose of receiving Title I funds will be to supplement the programs we are already using here at HCMS. The Title I funds will be used to improve on existing programs. • The Title I funds will not be used instead of other funds, to pay for existing programs. IRISH PRIDE

  6. Title I • We at HCMS will have a comprehensive needs assessment of the entire school using data analysis of various areas including NCLB test data and TCAP test data. • A school wide instructional intervention and strategy that supports our school improvement plan and school wide goals will be selected and implemented for the entire school. • A committee of people from the community, parents, and teachers will help make these determinations.
