WEB: Where Everybody Belongs • 6th Grade Transition Program • Goal: Help 6th grade students feel welcome, wanted and comfortable at HMS • Orientation before school starts • 8th Grade Peer Mentors: WEB Leaders • Academic & Social Follow-Ups during year
School Day Structure • Students will have a minimum of 4 core classes, each with a different 6th Grade teacher. • 6th Grade Teachers: Mrs. Wheeler, Mrs. Vannoy, Mrs. Pfenning, Mr. Egleus • Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts • Electives – Art, Band, Choir, P.E., Computers • 4 to 5 minute passing time to collect materials for each class • Each student will have an Hawk Talk time & teacher as well • First 15 minutes of each day • Attendance, Announcements, Questions
