3. Some conclusions from the C2C&C modelling workshop relevant to our CoP • There is a need for strategic alignment between CSIRO modelling groups. This can be achieved through the establishment of a C2C community-of-practice, which will be guided by a common strategy to drive overall science in the C2C domain and to assist with communications between groups. 4. Setting up a community of practice • What is a community of practice? A Community of Practice is a group of professionals, informally bound to one another through exposure to a common class of problems, and common pursuit of solutions. Objectives of the meeting • Develop a shared understanding on why C2C models are important • Understand what groups are doing in the C2C domain • Revisit strategic priorities and discuss how to pursue them • Develop a C2C toolbox: what models should be in the “toolbox”? What do they do? What kind of information we want to share? • Come up with practical solutions on how our CoP will interact with modellers outside CSIRO • Mentoring? CSIRO.
