OPHTHALMOLOGY • Study of the eye.
CORNEA • Transparent anterior portion of the sclera.
CONJUNCTIVA • Delicate membrane lining the eyelids and covering the anterior eyeball.
CONJUNCTIVITIS • Inflammation of the conjunctiva.
RETINA • Light sensitive posterior layer of the eye containing photoreceptor.
RETINOPATHY • Any degenerative disease of the retina.
KERATOPLASTY • Surgical repair of the cornea.
Keratitis • Inflammation of the cornea.
LACRIMAL • Pertaining to tears.
EXOPHTHALAMUS • Abnormal protrusion of the eye.
IRIS • Colored portion of the eye around the pupil.
IRIDECTOMY • Surgical removal of the portion of the iris.
Sclera • Tough, white outer portion of the eyeball.
BLEPHARITIS • Inflammation of the eyelid.
VA • Visual acuity.
