Directions for diversity necklace • If you are white place a white bead on your necklace, if you are another race place a colored bead on your necklace. • If you are Christian, place a white bead on your necklace, if you are not Christian place a colored bead on your necklace. • If you have a gay or lesbian friend place a colored bead on your necklace, if not place a white bead on your necklace. • If you read a book about a different culture (Three Cups of Tea, the Kite Runner, The Red Tent or others) place a colored bead on your necklace, if not place a white bead. • If you have friends or family that lives in another country place a colored bead on your necklace, if not place a white bead on your necklace. • Thinking about last year in your classroom, if you did an activity about students or children from another culture in your classroom put a colored bead, if not add a white bead.
